The turn of the 21st Century brought changes which affected
modern painting in a significant way. A new style emerged,
appreciating the freedom of forms and textures, as well as
the unusual use of colors and materials to cause the most
varied effects.
But the work which explored the colors on the irregular relief
of surface (as it was used in the villages and the Venetian
castles) has gained the old status of work of art, stimulated
by the tendencies of the decoration nowadays.
The use of textures in decorative art pushes the artist towards
his/her peak of creativity. Working with textures is getting
involved with intensities, calculations, research and combinations,
in a vast ocean of possibilities and materials.
An artistic texture should not only associate a customized
finish, but also meet the expectations of those who use it,
bringing new life, dimensions and colors to any kind of object
or surface.
In this scope, the textures can be an alternative of creative
solutions to architecture and decoration, either in the aesthetics
field or in reducing the cost: marble being transformed into
another kind of marble, some worthless piece of wood being
texturized into another, a cemented beam being turned into
a noble oak beam, aluminum transformed into a rustic stone,
these are only some out of thousands of resources which the
use of textures offer
On the other hand, as a result of extensive research associated
to state-of-the-art materials, Jefferson Cabral creates textures
out of the most diverse kinds of tools, with a view to meeting
the needs of the most refined and demanding artistic concepts,
associated to a unique, versatile capacity of application.
Below is an example
of a column made of cement turned into Carrara marble. |
